Fahr was founded in the late 1800’s by Johann Georg Fahr. In 1911, Fahr slowly expanded and produced one of its most simple yet successful products which was the self binder. The first tractor built by Fahr was in 1938 called the F22 series which adopted a twin cylinder diesel engine supplied by Deutz. After the second world war, Fahr expanded its range of tractors which were known to be of a high standard including the famous ‘Crawler’ in 1953. In 1968, Fahr merged with Deutz when Deutz acquired the majority of share stakes in the Fahr’s company. Since the merge, Deutz Fahr has become a top manufacturer of tractors which is demonstrated by its 6, 7 and 9 series tractor. In 2017, Deutz Fahr acquired the most modern tractor factory in the world, with state-of-the-art facilities in the areas of assembly, electronics and quality. Deutz Fahr, has now set new benchmarks for efficiency and quality in manufacturing.
