Ford New Holland was formed when Ford purchased New Holland in 1985. Over the years, Ford has been a leading manufacturer of global automobiles, mass producing a range of cars and tractors since 1896. The battle between a group of entrepreneurs and Henry ford saw Ford split up into two companies, the Ford motor company whose costumer base was more predominantly in the US whilst Henry Ford dominated the European markets through the Fordson company. The two later consolidated again in 1964, with the creation of a global tractor line. They ranged products between the 2000 and 9000 series by 1975, integrating 3 and later 4-cylinder diesel engines.
Whereas, New Holland was established in 1895 in their hometown of New Holland, Pennsylvania and has been a mass producer of tractors ever since. Though they were acquired by the Sperry firm. By 1975, Sperry New Holland produced the first ever twin rotor combine, a revolutionary technology which still is applied in modern manufacturing. In 1985, Ford bought New Holland thus how Ford New Holland was established. Fiat later purchased Ford’s agricultural equipment, which allowed New Holland to resurface as its own firm without the addition of Ford’s name. Most recently, New Holland has produced the worlds first hydrogen powered tractor, which generates its energy from renewable sources. Both Ford and New Holland, are global firms famous for their innovation and mass production of tractors.
