Founder Joseph Cyril Bamford established his company shortly after the second world war in 1945. The main product in the early year was agricultural trailers. JCB managed to produce its first 'hydraulic' trailer in 1948. JCB continued using hydraulics technology to uniquely power the equipment, and in this way built a range of products such as it's famous 'hydra digger' in 1957, which was an all purpose tool that merged the capabilities of a loader and excavator together. it also developed the world's first 360-degrees excavator in the late 1960's. Throughout 1960's, JCB had sales of thousands of loaders and quickly became a renowned brand in the US. JCB has continued to expand throughtout the ages and most recently in 2006, achieved a landmark when two of its Dieselmax engines reached world record speeds. JCB is now a leading manufacturer of agricultural and construction equipment and has a presencein around 150 countries. There are currently 22 industrial plants, that produced a wide range of JCB products such as loaders, diggers and tractors including the famous unique JCB fastrac which was developed in 1991.
