Speed and position sensor used to monitor the rotation of the crankshaft and, using this, the position of the pistons. This information is used along with other sensor inputs by the ECU or engine management system to control ignition timing and fuel injection. This ignition and fuel control is key to ensure correct emissions are maintained. Symptoms of a failed sensor can include; acceleration problems, increased fuel consumption, misfires, rough idle, stalling and difficult starting.
