We are now through the first month since the Brexit changes came into force and would like to give some more detail about what the changes mean to you and how we will support you through these changes and into the future.
Delivery Fees & Duty Charges
We understand that additional charges are never ideal but we have always operated a transparent pricing policy whereby we offer the best possible price for our products and then charging delivery costs at the rate we are charged them. We do this rather than hiding the cost of delivery in the price of each one of our products.
Delivery charges to some countries have increased slightly but for the majority of destinations they remain unchanged for economy services provided through DPD.
The big difference is that VAT and Duties are now payable once goods have cleared customs. The VAT charge is calculated at your countries prevailing rate and duties are at the rate for products purchased as per your country’s regulation. This can vary anywhere between 0-4% depending on you’re the product mix. These charges will be payable on receipt of your goods via the courier delivering. DPD will send an email link to facilitate payment. Please make payments in a timely manner to prevent goods being returned to us or delaying your delivery.
Lead Time
There were significant delays to both express and economy delivery times throughout January as the new processes came into force and everyone took time to understand them. Whilst lead times are still extended by 1-3 days this is improving and we are hopeful that by March we will move back to the delivery times expected by us and you.
Courier Service
We offer a number of different courier services (DPD, TNT, FEDEX and UPS) into the EU. If you have a preferred courier service please do let us know and we will do our best to accommodate.
