Founded in a famous great works in Huddersfield, 1936, by two friends Harry Ferguson and David Brown who ultimately began by manufacturing their own unique engine followed by their own unique tractor. Unfortunately, the personalities of both friends clashed, and their partnership ended in 1939, but David Brown continued working hard through the second world war contributing to Britain's War effort through agricultural tractor production. His mill in UK was destroyed by German bombs, But David Brown still went on to achieve success. He was the inventor of the new improved, and world famous cropmaster. Throughout the ages David Brown build various other special tractors for limited markets. David Brown recieved knighthood in 1968 in recognition of his service to the country, later retired in 1977. The final production of a David brown tractor was in 1988, after the most modern tractor plant at the time ceased production after Case International took over David Brown's company.
